have you ever wondered; why it is; we love this music?

I've been humming and haring about writing this post tonight.

Honestly, my mind is cluttered with topic ideas, and I fear this may become a very opinionated post.

However, I have to share with the world my love for the huge new film that has recently hit the cinemas with a bang!

Avatar!

Now, I think this is a film you either love, or hate. My guess is the majority of the world's population love it. I don't know a lot about the making of the film, only that it has been in planning for about 25 years and that the producers blew a huge sum of money on it. ($300,000,000?). Anyway,

IN MY OPINION..

... it is a fantastic film. I saw it in 3D and it truly blew me away! I will say with great confidence that it is the best film I have ever seen. However, I am no film critic and I'm really not interested in anyone else's opinion on it, simply because I don't have the required insight into the making of this film (or films in general) to create a strong, and/or interesting argument.

So, let's keep this blog simple and as least bias as possible, shall we?... I...?

Ok, so, whenever I watch a film my mind goes bazzy with ideas. Mainly phylosophical thoughts on the world, emotions, reality, religion, faith.. pretty much anything.

So, I am still at this point deciding a decent topic to write about that will not lead to people being offended or angered by what I type.

*pause for a break and some thinking time...*

Woah, ok.. I did get totally distracted by my xbox. and.. to be completely honest, I didn't do a lot of topic thinking. So, let's pick something casual.

...

Music?

I know it's quite a huge topic to cover, but I'm going to be as blunt and to-the-point as I can. Then again, if you've read my previous blogs, you know I can go off on a tangent quite easily.

Okay, so I'll begin by explaining my general, personal, opinionated... "bias" views on music;

Basically, I have mixed views on music. From a psychological point of view I think it can do as much harm as it can good. Of course, this theory of mine is one that can only be applied individually.

Everything depends on something else.

So, let me think of an example. Let's say there is an individual, living in poor circumstances, has had a crap past; is generally depressed. If this person were to listen to "depressing**" music. This music may fuel the depression (in my opinion)*.

*I also think, that not only does the type of music effect the person's mood, but visa versa; the person's mood may effect what type of music that person listens to.

**Now, I won't name any specific genres, as it all depends on a person's taste in music as to whether it is "depressing" or not. But when I, personally, use the term "depressing", I am referring to music with aggressive/saddening lyrics and perhaps a slow, dreary beat.

Anyway, so. That's one example. What if a "jolly", happy, up-beat person who had a 'healthy' lifestyle, living in what society classes as a 'normal' or 'happy' environment, what if he/she were to listen to some up-beat music? Maybe some classics, with fast beats and 'uplifting' instrumentals. Would this boost their mood, keep them happy and jolly?

And, of course, we should consider what would happen to these people if they were somehow forced to listen to music they generally wouldn't be interested in. Say if the depressed individual started listening to some Bob Marley tracks?

He/she could be driving home from a funeral with "don't worry, be happy" blasting out of the stereo. Would that, if even just a little bit, lighten their mood?

Right, I am aware that I am rambling and this post will require a lot of editing before it gets published. But hopefully it makes sense. I don't want to bore anyone,

I just like to think at the end of every post that I may have broadened at least one mind, shown someone an alternative perspective. Or perhaps just have entertained somebody with my awful spelling and erratic use of punctuations.

Either way, I wouldn't mind a comment or two.

So, at 1:25am, I think it's time to log off.

Remember friends; Don't worry, be happy!   - ;) -

Cheerio!
